Winter UGH…slushy roads, freezing temperatures, wind chill factor…HOWEVER…Winter can actually be the perfect time to get married! We asked our Special Events Coordinator and wedding expert, Jennica Hofman for the low down on winter weddings at White Oaks. It’s a way in which you can make your wedding stand out during a time of the year that can be magical and décor options can be amazingly beautiful.
You definitely won’t need to worry about being too hot in your dress or suit! Winter weddings can mean the perfect scenery with enchanting falling snowflakes (if you’re really lucky!) and glistening backgrounds. It can be a truly romantic season to get hitched.
With a winter wedding, you stay warm with accessories such as fur or plaid winter scarves. You can bring in darker tones like burgundy, deep purple or a dark grey. Or simply winter greens and white details making you feel like you brought the winter from outside to the indoors.
If you are interested in a Christmas themed wedding, our resort transforms with beautiful Christmas décor throughout the entire property. It’s a cheerful season to be with your family and close friends already, so adding a wedding celebration can really make that time of year extra special for the whole clan.
At White Oaks Resort & Spa, we offer our couples an off-season discount for their special day! There are lots of opportunities to find some great savings when searching for your other vendors as well.
Add some winter treats like a S’more’s Station with a Thermos of Hot Chocolate, Creamy Milk Chocolate Wafers, Graham Crackers, Gooey Marshmallows, and topped off with Whip Cream and Chocolate Swirls. Invite your guests to cozy up at our outdoor fire pit with Muskoka Chairs and warm blankets.
Don’t forget about the honeymoon! It’s the perfect time to make a tropical escape and avoid hurricane season…not to mention, you can can find some great deals! Think outside the box and consider a winter wedding and all the really “cool” elements you can incorporate that time of year.
