Kirby Estate 2023 Pinot Blanc

Niagara-on-the-Lake, VQA

A striking single-vineyard expression, Kirby Estate’s 2023 Pinot Blanc reflects the unique terroir of Niagara-on-the-Lake. With vines rooted along Four Mile Creek, this wine offers a delicate yet layered nose of orchard fruit, ripe peach, pear, and floral notes, complemented by almond and a subtle honeyed richness.

On the palate, it is soft and creamy with refreshing vibrancy. Crisp acidity and minerality balance the stone fruit core, while a hint of spice carries through a long, elegant finish.

Malivoire 2024 “Stouck Vineyard” Viognier

Lincoln Lakeshore, VQA

Malivoire has spent over 25 years crafting exceptional wines while leading in sustainable winegrowing. This Viognier, sourced from the Stouck Estate Vineyard, is intensely aromatic with notes of candied citrus, peach pie, apricot, honeysuckle, and lily of the valley.

The palate is equally expressive, offering flavours of peach, mandarin orange, baked pear, and honey, all delivered with a silky texture and pleasing weight. Subtle hints of ginger and tarragon add complexity to this vibrant wine.

Kirby Estate 2020 Signature Unfiltered Merlot

Niagara Lakeshore, VQA

A standout expression of Niagara Merlot, this wine showcases the ambition and craftsmanship of proprietors Scott and Maria Kirby. The 2020 vintage is rich and layered, with aromas of dark cherry, wild black raspberry, plum, clove, cassis, and toasty vanilla spice.

Velvety tannins frame the concentrated fruit, while savoury herbs, graphite, and crushed stone add depth. Despite its bold 15.7% alcohol, the wine remains balanced and lifted by cool-climate acidity. Aged for 20 months in French oak, this Merlot delivers a long, graceful finish and is a true testament to Niagara’s potential.

M.W. Cellars 2022 Unfiltered Syrah

Niagara-on-the-Lake, VQA

Crafted by winemaker Marty Werner, this Syrah is a true labour of love. Sourced from vineyards along the Niagara Lakeshore and St. David’s Bench, the wine is hand-harvested and carefully produced to preserve its character.

With a pale ruby hue, the nose reveals black pepper, red cherry, and sandalwood. On the palate, flavours of black raspberry, red currant, and warm cranberry emerge, enhanced by subtle oak influence from aging in a single new American oak barrel. Bottled with minimal filtration, this Syrah is a vibrant and expressive example of Niagara’s growing reputation for the varietal.
